Abuse Policy

How AlpineLayer receives, investigates and responds to abuse reports.

Version 1.0Last updated 2 September 2026English

1. Report abuse

Send reports to abuse@alpinelayer.ch with the affected IP or domain, timestamps and timezone, URLs, relevant logs or email headers, a clear description and contact information.

2. Triage

Reports are prioritized according to credibility, severity, active harm, legal obligations and infrastructure risk. Active attacks, phishing, malware and safety emergencies may receive immediate attention.

3. Customer notification

Where appropriate, AlpineLayer will notify the responsible customer and request remediation. Notice may be delayed or omitted where immediate containment is needed, law prohibits notice or notice would materially increase risk.

4. Possible actions

  • Request remediation or information.
  • Block a port, address, URL, domain or workload.
  • Restrict outbound messaging or network traffic.
  • Suspend or terminate a service.
  • Preserve evidence where legally appropriate.
  • Escalate to an upstream provider, registrar, registry or authority where justified.

5. Intellectual-property complaints

Copyright and trademark matters are handled under the Copyright & IP Complaints Policy. AlpineLayer does not decide complex ownership disputes better resolved by a competent court or recognized dispute procedure.

6. Legal requests

Court and law-enforcement requests are handled under the Law Enforcement Request Guidelines.

7. Appeals

Customers may provide evidence that a report is inaccurate or remediated. AlpineLayer may restore service when the underlying risk is resolved, subject to legal and upstream restrictions.

8. Records

Abuse evidence and action history may be retained for security, repeat-offender detection, legal claims and compliance for a period appropriate to the incident.
