DDoS Protection Policy

Scope, limitations and mitigation actions for protected services.

Version 1.0Last updated 2 September 2026English

1. Baseline protection

Where offered, DDoS protection is designed to mitigate certain volumetric or protocol attacks. The exact scope depends on upstream network capabilities and the purchased tier.

2. No absolute guarantee

No DDoS service can guarantee uninterrupted service against every attack. Large, complex or application-layer attacks may require filtering, rate limits, null-routing, additional protection or customer application changes.

3. Mitigation actions

AlpineLayer may filter traffic, rate-limit, change routes, challenge requests or temporarily null-route a target to protect the broader platform.

4. Higher-risk workloads

Customers with higher threat profiles may require specialized mitigation, dedicated architecture or a third-party protection provider.

5. Outbound attacks

Using AlpineLayer infrastructure to generate attacks is prohibited and may result in immediate suspension.
